Applebot-Extended is not a separate crawler. It is a control token operated by Apple that governs whether content already fetched by Applebot may be used to train Apple Intelligence and Apple's generative models. Applebot itself continues to power Siri, Spotlight, and Safari search suggestions.

Does blocking Applebot-Extended hurt my Apple search ranking?

No. Applebot-Extended only controls training use of your content. Regular Applebot, which handles Siri and Spotlight search indexing, obeys its own rules. Blocking the Extended token opts you out of Apple Intelligence training while leaving Apple search entirely unaffected.
